March to a Different Beat

"Monday Again? Oh No!!"

On Mondays, I usually march to a different beat than the rest of the week.

The rest of the week, T, W, R, F, Sa, Su, I can get by on logic, spontaneity, and love, (by the way "R" is Thursday, I learned that one in college by deductive thinking!).
Monday however isn't based on logic, spontaneity and love. Well, I take that back. There is some logic into my Mondays. But mostly Mondays here are based on the hardest things of all for me. I call them the 3 P's. Planning, Preparation, and Patience.

Planning: menus, lunches, dinner, clean clothes, and curriculum. Then you have to make room for the unplanned.
Preparation: grocery shopping because by R (yes, Thursday) there won't be any food left in the house, clothes put away, a positive attitude set out for little ones to feed off of, school work to be scheduled and the calendar set.
Patience: a LOT of it because by the time the planning and preparation are completed there isn't much patience left on my part! Therefore I make sure that I have more of it than any other day.

But the thing I love best about Mondays, is that I really do get to march to a different beat, and I LOVE it!

I have the privilege to play, paint, make messes, rejoice, run, jump, sing, read, and have fun with 3 year olds. Granted I do this daily, but when you are with a bunch of kids that aren't yours, and Not in Your house, it is actually fun! Which is where most of my preparation comes into play.
But once the 3 P's are accomplished, I get to put on my dance shoes (all three different pairs) and dance!

Because with the coming of a new week, there is

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3

And then Mondays bring hope for my unheard of dream. That someday, I can look as good as this man in a leotard, and make even more beautiful music with my feet. Like It says: "There is a time for everything"!!!
