Ash Wednesday

Out my back door I see Ursa Major, Cassiopeia, and part of Andromeda.

Out my front door I see Ursa Minor and Cepheus.

I have missed the stars.
The clouds have hidden them from my site.

The stars keep me steady. A sense of days, a sense of time, a sense of season.

Tonight the Moon shown on the snow and reflected off the stars.
"Mom, look! The Moon looks like the Cheshire Cat Smile", says Ms. Bellie.
And it did.
And I felt happy.

I had noticed the stars, she had noticed the Moon.

Let's hope the smile of the Moon doesn't laugh in the face of the stars.
Because the stars are telling me Spring is coming.
And we are more than ready for Spring.
